About Pivotal

This website started life as the website of Pivotal. In 2015, friends Peter Daldorph and Michelle Golder (who later, in 2020, founded the Haslingfield and Harlton Eco Group) got together over a coffee and copy of Naomi Klein’s book, This Changes Everything. They decided they had to “do something” about raising consciousness around the climate emergency, and, being writers and theatre producers, they decided that that something would be an arts festival, to be part of ArtCOP21, the Cape Farewell organised celebration of the Paris Climate talks (COP21). Many other local artists and creatives joined us to shape and deliver the idea, and between 2015 and 2021 two Pivotal Festivals and many additional events took place, organised by people like James Murray-White, Jill Eastland and Rebecca Greene. Several short films also emerged from the project. Click on the links below to see the archives from the Pivotal Project, which is now on indefinite hold as we all move forward on seperate but equally exciting projects!
