Utopia? Dystopia? Or Thrutopia? An Invitation to an Evening’s Introduction to the Ideas of Thrutopia

  • Michelle's House Cambridge United Kingdom (map)

The Eco Book Group spent an inspiring afternoon recently having a first go at using the Thrutopia card set. The set, which is based on the combined work of Rupert Read, Martin Buber and Manda Scott, takes users through a vision of the future that is in the best interest of the planet and of future generations.    The card set’s author, Rachel Pryor, has 30 years’ experience of coaching leaders and has designed the cards to be both challenging and nurturing.  Above all, her aim is to equip us, as Thrutopians, for the vital transformational work that we might do in our workplaces and communities. Members of the Book Group thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with the cards and came out wanting more!

Our evening will consist of exploring some of the many phantoms that shape the basis of society’s current thinking and ways of seeing.  We will then explore some Thrutopian lenses of what could be, before tapping into some glyphs to build our courage and resourcefulness in our work as Thrutopians. In Rachel Pryor’s words: “Thrutopians are not heroes in the traditional sense.  They are people who choose to see clearly.  In doing so, they make a different world possible.”

We can only accommodate a small group for this event. Please have a look through some of the sample cards below, and if this sounds like something you would like to try, please email Michelle at hnheco@gmail.com.
